Monday morning, I feel terrible. Nauseous like you wouldnt believe. I dont mind throwing up, so Id much rather expell the demons in my belly than deal with this feeling. I log onto my patient access portal for the hospital where you can see upcoming appointments, lab results, meds ect. To nobody in my Camps surprise, theres no Nulasta appointment scheduled. Im fucking irate, I feel like shit and now i have to deal with this. Up to this point the side effects from the chemo rival the aggravation from working with WVU's cancer center. If I have to call and chase prescriptions, make and schedule my own appointments what the fuck are we paying these people for. So after phone tag, we schedule the SIMPLE 2 second sub cutaneous injection for 1030. I get there early, like you should, and check in. At check in, the advise me that its going to be at least another 20 minutes. WVU has a policy, that if you're waiting more than 15 minutes for your appointment, to let someone know. So out of spite, anger, frustration, whatever, I let these people know every 15 minutes that I was in their waiting room. Its almost noon before they call me back, a quick set of vitals before we get to administering the drugs. Im hypertesive because i dont feel well, so we need to chill for a second to get my blood pressure under control. I wonder why. Anyways, vitals out of the way its time for the shot. Its not bad, just a lot of volume for under the skin, and its COLD.

The Nulasta is supposed to stimulate bone marrow to produce white blood cells and thats important because the chemo attacks them. The side effect of Nulasta is bone pain and if I had medical staff that would communicate, I would have known to premedicate with Claritin to reduce or minimize the side effects of the Nulasta but I dont and they didnt, so I find this information out from my nurse as shes injecting me. Remember when I said dont get behind the 8ball again. Well here we are. So instead of minimizing the side effects of the Nulasta, I have to revert to the opiates to mask them because you need the Claritin in your system for 24 hours before hand for it to be effective. I hate this place.

Tomorrow is a new round of chemo, the bleomycin. Cant wait.
